For the past month I have had pretty much none stop back pain. Yesterday I was at school and it was super bad. I heard someone from behind me ask if anyone had back pain. I turned around and said it was me, they prayed and it felt a little better. I went to bed last night in pain, woke up and it was gone. The first morning without pain in nearly a month! Praise the Lord
I had a dream last night in which a person helped me move some sort of giant umbrella thing. As reverts moving it he began to tell me who I was. I then asked him who he was and he shied away.
This reflects a very powerful truth. Our story is not about what we have accomplished in life. That’s just self promoted pride. Who we are is not in what we do to look good. It’s in the struggles, the pain, the success, the top-of-the-world feelings and the average normality of life. This is where are story is.
We have things to share, let’s speak out and not be afraid. Our stories mean something to another.
“Courage is not the absence of fear but the judgment that something else is more important than fear. The brave may not live forever but the cautious do not live at all. For now you are traveling the road between who you think you are and who you can be.” -Meg Cabot
“Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile.” -Mother Teresa

I have just finished getting ready to head down to Roseville to watch the Superbowl. In preparation I have had the rules explained and have read on how it is played. To put this into one sentence, I have the information. But there is so much more to it than the information. There is the history of support; of shared battles, loses, victories and defeats. These can never be learnt about, they can only be experienced. Then there Is the players, the feeling of running with the ball to the touchdown, the tackle of the opponent and the roars of the crowd. These can never be learnt about, they can only be experienced.
This is a truth all across life. We can learn all there is to about the world, people, cities, foods, cultures but it’s just information. True knowledge is where information comes from experience. It is where you can describe the feelings of it.
I don’t want to know everything about something without actually experiencing it.
I am from England and by being such a nationality, people enquire about what England is like. I can tell them about the statistics, the population, the textbook stuff. Or I can tell them about the local parks where my friends and I play cricket, or the rolling hills that I hiked.
Each one of us has a story to tell. Behind each bit of information about ourselves is a story. Yes I am living in America, but how did I get here?
You have a story which is far beyond the facts, the figures and the information. It is personal to each and every one of you. It’s who you are, where you have been, where you are headed. It’s a story that people want to hear.
So I encourage you, start looking at the experiences you have had in your life, those which go way beyond just the information about you. You will find that you are all running with the ball and feeling the roar of the crowd. The field might not be grass but the city. The yard lines may be pay checks but your story needs to be heard. It is an experience that passes all knowledge.
Moving from knowing to living. It’s a nice drive!
